GREENSBORO, N.C., Dec. 28, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) - Qorvo ® , a leading provider of innovative RF solutions that connect the world, today announced that it is providing the front-end power amplifier (PA) for the Qualcomm ® Cellular Vehicle-to-Everything (C-V2X) Reference Design from Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., a subsidiary of Qualcomm Incorporated.
Designed to enhance travel safety consciousness and improve driver assistance, the new Qorvo GaAs HBT PA is the only PA announced to support C-V2X. The solution is designed to offer industry-leading performance, with higher linear output power and improved efficiency to lower thermal conditions required for automotive applications using C-V2X. C-V2X is designed to support active safety and help enhance situational awareness by detecting and exchanging information using low latency direct transmission in the 5.9 GHz ITS band for Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V), Vehicle-to-Infrastructure (V2I) and Vehicle-to-Pedestrian (V2P) situations with no need for cellular subscription or any network assistance. C-V2X is defined by the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) Release 14 specifications including PC5-based direct communications, with a clear evolution path towards 5G New Radio (5GNR). Gorden Cook, general manager of Qorvo’s Transport Business Unit, said, “Qorvo’s RF technologies are critical to enabling the connected car. We are excited that our HBT power amplifier will play a key role in Qualcomm Technologies’ C-V2X reference design, as it is designed to improve safety, advance autonomous driving technology and enhance the driving experience.” Qorvo products designed to solve the toughest automotive RF challenges will be showcased during (#CES2018) in Las Vegas, Nevada, January 9-12, in booth #42531, Halls A-D of Sands Expo. He appeared briefly at the opening ceremonies with a red-hat-sporting Donald Trump impersonator in tow, before being ushered out. It was only a matter of time before he ran into the actual North Korean presence at the Olympics, in the form of their much-discussed cheerleaders. At a preliminary women’s hockey match today (Feb. 14) between the unified Korean team and Japan, the impersonator positioned himself in front of the cheering section, before being jostled out of the arena. He identified himself only as Howard and said he was an Australian. The videotape was played Monday, the first day of a hearing to decide if the teen is tried as an adult for the killings.
After the shootings, the teen appears to eagerly answer questions from investigators, describing on videotape how he killed his 47-year-old father before driving 3 miles (5 kilometers) to the school. InvestorPlace Shares of Under Armour Inc (NYSE:UAA, NYSE:UA) for the better part of the past two and a half years have been in a sea of pain. The big drop in UA stock over this time not only destructed much stockholder wealth but, over the past few months, also ultimately led to a severely pessimistic attitude on the part of stock holders.
Shares of Under Armour are a great recent example of why its important to have a process in place that measures trends and trend changes in different time frames and thus becoming aware of when bull or bear trends may be changing. Fortune The low-cost processor market has often required consumers to forgo solid graphics performance, as the built-in graphics units included in such chips typically fall far short of the required horsepower for even a cheap gaming PC. Advanced Micro Devices is trying to break that assumption with two new chips, the $169 Ryzen 5 2400G and the $99 Ryzen 3 2200G, which incorporate versions of its high-end Vega graphics processor instead of the usual low performers.
Tech news site ZDNet compared systems running the new AMD chips to PCs with comparably priced Intel chips that include Intel’s relatively slow performing integrated graphics processors. Puget Sound Business Journal Boeing is studying three different engine designs for a new mid-sized passenger airplane dubbed the 797, delegates at the Singapore Airshow heard this week. The leading contender is GE Aviation (through its CFM International joint venture), which said Boeing will have to make a decision in 2018 for the potential aircraft to be ready to enter service in 2025. “Time is running out,” Chaker Chahrour, GE Aviation’s vice president and general manager of global sales and marketing, said at the Singapore Airshow Aviation Leadership Summit, according to aviation industry news publication FlightGlobal. Money With Wall Street’s recent slide erasing more than 10% of the market’s value in two weeks, you’ve probably been tempted to peek at your 401(k) account. What you should do now is use this opportunity to check something more important: the fees you’re paying in your workplace retirement account, says Josh Robbins, chief strategy officer of America’s Best 401k (ABK). Retirement plan fees are often overlooked — especially in good times, when the market is delivering double-digit returns — because they may seem minor at the time.
