It just sits there not doing anything. Any suggestions?Yes, you should start a new thread and link back to this one. The only people looking at this are probably the people that responded to it, like myself, two years ago.
You will get more eyeballs on a new thread of your own, trust me. Thought I'd chime in.

I just had to reset an APC PDU and go thru this hassle. The process that worked for me 3 times straight: 1. Press reset button with paper clip - only 2 sec is necessary 2. Release reset. Network port LED's will start flashing. Immediately press reset again, only 1-2 seconds needed.
IMMEDIATELY go to the serial console, and start pressing Enter until you see a prompt. Might have to do this several times. You only get 30 seconds. Type 'apc/apc' as user/password You should now be in. If it didn't work, you missed the 30 second window. Try again from the top. I connect APC PDU serial port with console cable with the following configuration, RJ-12 DB-9 2-5 3-2 4-3 I use HyperTerminal software for serial connection, with following settings, 57600 baud rate, 8 data bit, no parity, 1 stop bit, no flow control but I am unable to communicate with PDU.
I use the following procedure, 1- press reset button for 2 seconds and instantly press enter 5 to 10 times in hyper terminal software, but no display on hyper terminal. 2- press enter 5 to 10 times and then press the reset button, but the same result.
I checked following, i- the computer is directly connected to serial port of PDU, ii- computer's com port is enabled, iii- no services using com port, iv- scroll lock button is not pressed. What should I do for communication with PDU? because my PDU is not responsive currently, as no display is on PDU. Hi Muhammad, Unfortunately, I cannot advise you on making your own cable as it sounds like you did, If you are not using the cable that came with the unit, APC part number 940-0144, the cable may be part of the problem.
The other thing you mentioned is the baud rate you are using is incorrect. The Rack PDU uses baud rate of 9600. You would not be able to communicate with our Rack PDU at 57600. If you continue to have trouble with resetting the PDU, it would be best to have you contact your local APC Help Desk directly for technical support. I hope this information is helpful. I have another PDU of model AP7951 when I change outlet setting, then that setting implement. Then I log out but when I restart the PDU then PDU go to default settings. But after I change the outlet settings, then I go to configure the setting of the outlet. And I make the same setting here and set the delay time to 5 seconds. Then I log out and restart the PDU then settings won't go to default. My question is what is the right procedure for saving settings?
Application module version is v 1.0.2 APC os version is v 1.1.6 The second question is what will it be any problem if I upgrade my PDU firmware?
