The reason the original fan seemed loud is because the board automatically ramped up the RPM's of the fan because your CPU is running way too hot. Are you certain that you used enough TIM 'thermal interface material' when you installed the heat sink? Are you certain that the heatsink is attached to the motherboard correctly? Cars software. Check all of your air vents and make sure there is no dust or lint blocking them. If there are easily removable panels on the bottom (such as the ones that cover the hard drive and RAM), remove them and get a can of compressed air. Blow back against the normal air flow to remove any dust or lint. IOW, if the air is drawn through the bottom of the notebook and exits from the sides, remove the bottom panels, then blow through the side panels to dislodge anything. 80C is pretty high.

My OC'd Gateway laptop never gets near that hot; the closest I ever came to it was 70C when playing Bioshock for over an hour, and most of that heat was from the GPU (my laptop shares the same heatsink fan and fins for the CPU and GPU).
